Nominated for the Filipa Bragança Award for Best Female Solo Performance.
Having never been for a jog around the park, Lauren signed up to compete in the Tetra-Decathlon World Championships; committing to learn 14 different athletic events and then compete on the World stage, all in just 600 days.
Tetra-Decathlon is a funny and inspiring show exploring the hurdles on the way to the starting line. Mixing humorous storytelling with athletic physicality, Lauren runs, jumps and throws herself into a world of serious amateurs and comedic coaches, where winning is not simply about crossing the line first.
Directed by multi-award winner, Jenna Watt (Faslane, Flâneurs) and performed by Lauren Hendry, Tetra-Decathlon is a joyous exploration of coming last, and then coming back for more.
“It’s no spoiler to call it a winning show”
Scotland On Sunday
“an inspiring tale of pushing on, challenging yourself and the resilience of the human spirit.”
The Wee Review
“a lovely, affecting piece on what it means to take on a seemingly outlandish task”
“Hendry’s simply structured but impressively sweaty 60 minutes asks some piercing questions about failure and success, amateur and professionals, being a hero and being a fool and why we keep going against all the odds.”
